This two-day course is for professionals who work with parents and their children. It looks at both the theory and practice of parenting education. It includes advanced communication skills, positive discipline strategies, emotional literacy and empathetic parenting skills, child led play, descriptive praise and stress management. It also covers social learning theory, systemic family therapy interventions, problems in child development and communication with distressed children. 

This two-day course is for professionals who work with parents and their children, interested in running the Parenting Toolkit in a group setting or with individuals. This builds on Part 1 Parenting Toolkit training and develops workers' skills and understanding of group work theory, group process, facilitation skills and parent engagement. Within this it deepens the skills learnt from Part 1 in advanced communication skills, positive discipline strategies, emotional literacy and empathetic parenting skills, child led play, descriptive praise and stress management.

This nine-week online, interactive course supports parents to help children thrive and transform family patterns.  It is based on The Parenting Toolkit book by Caroline Penney.

Key topics covered on the course:  Building confidence, feelings, play, listening skills and communications, setting limits, understanding behaviour, developmental stages.
