Mental health and wellbeing for families and children

Welcome to the Lantern Family Centre Website

The Lantern Family Centre offers therapeutic work for families and children and training and consultation to professionals and parents.  We are a multi-disciplinary team developing a service to meet the needs of families and professionals in Surrey.

What we do

Our aim is to offer emotional understanding and support to parents and therapeutic help to young people as they grow up through infancy, childhood into adolescence.  Most parents find parenting both rewarding and challenging.  We offer therapeutic services for children and families who are going through difficult times and need expert professional help.

We also offer training and supervision for professionals working with children and families in therapeutic, health and teaching arenas.

How we can help

At the Lantern Family Centre we offer help with a wide range of family problems. You may be worried about your child's behaviour at school or his difficulties in making friends, or you may be struggling as a step-parent to deal with a child's temper tantrums, sleeping problems, ADHD or concerns about autism. If so, call us to discuss how we might help.

Courses for parents

We provide a range of courses for parents that will develop your skills and confidence in handling a child's anger and distress or arguments between brothers and sisters, whether they are toddlers or teenagers. Many of the families we see have been through divorce. We offer therapeutic services and family therapy to help the parents cope with the break up and to support children with their feelings about separation and loss. As experienced professionals, we offer team consultation and individual supervision for complex work with families and children.
